Inspired by Charles Dickens’ incomplete novel, Rupert Holmes’ spirited musical extravaganza stops the action midway through Act II (where Dickens had died) to invite the audience to vote on the outcome. Who DID kill Edwin Drood? We are proud to present this hilarious, chaotic entertainment, filled with melodrama, high spirits and rousing music hall melodies.
“Rupert Holmes’ achievement in his musical adaptation of Dickens’ ‘The Mystery of Edwin Drood’ is a little short of astonishing …”

Two houses, whose backyards adjoin, set the scene for this buoyant and charming comedy where we meet four sisters in a small Midwestern town in 1938, their husbands, and offspring. This American “chestnut” about hope, lost dreams, love, and families, is a heart-warming, funny, and emotionally satisfying play. Recently revived on Broadway to stunning success, we are happy to bring this marvelously life affirming play to our stage.
